Welcome to my blog! I will be blogging my adventures in New York City as I intern this summer at PwC. This will be a place I can reflect on what I learn and who I meet at my internship, as well as a place to document the things I do in New York. July 4th Break

During the entire week of the 4th of July, PwC closes its offices, which means I got an entire week off. On the first weekend, I went to the New York City Pride March. The march this year celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall riots in NYC. I went to an exhibit at the library and learned more about the riots and the evolution of the gay community in public throughout the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The march was a lot of fun. We first went through the company booths and got a ton of free things- mostly rainbow colored. Then we watched the first two hours of the parade. It was mostly city of New York organizations. Because it was so hot, we went back to the dorm and hung out until about 5 when we decided to watch the parade again. When we went back out, there were a lot more floats we recognized of brands and companies. We even got to see the cast of Queer Eye on the Netflix float and Neil Patrick Harris and his family. Impact at Disney World

At the end of every internship, PwC hosts the Impact Conference at Walt Disney World in Florida where every intern in the United States goes. I got to the resort on Monday afternoon, and after I registered I quickly put my bags in my room and got on a bus to the opening ceremony. On the bus I sat with someone from Ohio State who I haven't talked to since the first week of my internship. So it was nice to catch up with her. At the opening ceremony I met up with some friends from Ohio State who were in different offices and learned about their internship. I also met up with some friends I made that summer in New York. There were a lot of fun activities to do such as a ball pit, see saw, and photo booth. There was also a Bebe Rexha concert at the end of the evening. It was a really fun event that was a great kick-off to the event. After the concert, everyone hung out at the resort. Promotion Day and Weekend #3

On Friday, June 21 PwC celebrated Promotion Day firm-wide. It is a celebration of everyone who is getting promoted. I went last year as an Elevate Participant but this year I felt more apart of the celebrations. The day started in Madison Square Garden with a big presentation about how far PwC has come this year, including lots of prizes, the PwC band, and Kenan Thompson! Before heading to MSG, I met other Insurance interns at Starbucks and chatted with them before heading to the event together. I stuck around with this group for the rest of the day's activities. After MSG, there was a huge block party with free food and drinks, and then after was a smaller party just for the Insurance practice on a rooftop garden bar. It was fun to talk to interns in my practice that I haven't met before. No one from my team ended up coming, but I still had fun just hanging out with the interns.
